Child safety standards
GoDigit (Android app `org.godigit.app` and website go-digit.org), published by EMINI in Parakou (Benin), is a platform for learning digital skills open to teenagers from the age of 13. Protecting minors comes before everything else. This page describes our standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), and what we do to enforce them.
Last updated: 27 October 2026.
Zero tolerance
The following are strictly forbidden on GoDigit, in posts, comments, stories, private messages, groups, communities, lives and calls:
- any child sexual abuse material (images, videos, texts, drawings or computer- or AI-generated content);
- soliciting a minor for sexual purposes (grooming), including requests for photos, meetings, contact details or exchanges outside GoDigit;
- the sexualisation of a minor, blackmail or sextortion;
- sharing links or means to obtain such content;
- the trafficking or exploitation of children in any form.
Any violation leads to the removal of the content, the permanent closure of the account and a report to the authorities.
Protections built into GoDigit
- Minimum age of 13 and parental consent required for every minor's account. The age of majority follows the person's country.
- Protected identity: a minor only appears under a username and a sticker, including in communities. No profile photo, no name shown, no link to their profile.
- Supervised contacts: nobody can write to a minor, call them or connect with them, except their parents and the adults their parents have linked themselves (for example a teacher or a tutor).
- Social space closed by default: only a parent can open it. Photos, videos, sounds and links are not allowed in what a minor posts, unless their parents agree.
- Communities: a community reserved for adults is invisible to a minor. A minor can only join a community and post in it if their parents have opened their social space. They cannot create or manage a community.
- Conversations never closed to parents: a conversation that includes a minor is never end-to-end encrypted, and parents are participants in their child's secret chats.
- Lives: a minor cannot host a live, either in a class or in a community. They can only speak on the microphone when the host gives them the floor: never the camera, never screen sharing. Class lives are recorded, with a banner visible in the room.
- Parent space: parents follow their child's activity, receive a summary every week, see the history of their calls, set their parental controls (social space, media, games, schedule), can ask for their location (the child accepts or declines) and can pause their account.
- "I need help": a button that is always available and immediately alerts the child's parents, or our team if no parent is linked.
- No advertising, no tracking, no purchases by a minor: for a class, a course or a community plan, their parent pays from their own space.
Reporting a problem
- In the app or on the website: the Report button, on every post, comment, message, profile and live, including community posts. The reason "Putting a minor in danger" puts the report at the top of the moderation queue.
- Report and send: in an end-to-end encrypted conversation between adults, our team cannot read anything. A person who is threatened can send us a readable copy of the conversation, decrypted on their device, without the other person being notified.
- Blocking a person immediately cuts off all contact with them.
- By email, including without an account: [email protected], with the subject "Child safety".
If a child is in immediate danger, contact the police or gendarmerie of your country first.
What we do after a report
- Priority review by our moderation team, within 24 hours at the latest for a "Putting a minor in danger" report.
- Immediate removal of the content concerned and suspension of the account during the review. A community can be suspended in the same way.
- Retention of the evidence that is strictly necessary, with restricted and logged access, to pass it on to the authorities.
- Report to the competent authorities: in Benin, the Central Office for the Suppression of Cybercrime (OCRC) and the Republican Police; elsewhere, the authorities of the country concerned and recognised reporting platforms (such as NCMEC or the INHOPE network hotlines).
- Permanent closure of the account, and refusal of any new sign-up by the person.
- Informing the parents of the minor concerned, when this does not put the investigation at risk.
Compliance with the law
GoDigit applies child protection laws, in particular the Children's Code and the Digital Code (Law No. 2017-20) of the Republic of Benin, as well as Google Play's child safety rules. We cooperate with judicial and police authorities on any lawful request.
